Who are we looking for?

Artfinder is seeking a proactive and motivated Principal Data Analyst with experience working remotely, who is interested in joining us to build a world where art benefits everyone. 

This role would be best suited to candidates with a solid data analysis background looking to lead & develop a data strategy to support Artfinder’s platform growth to become the art marketplace of choice for millions of artists and art lovers out there. You will initially report directly to our Head of Digital Marketing, but work in close partnership with our CEO, CTO, Support & Operations Manager and the rest of the management team. 

  • You are an analytical minded data professional with experience in the end to end process of data engineering, analysis and visualisation. 
  • You are a forward-thinking and self-motivated individual able to balance quality, delivery, and focus, as well as an excellent communicator with a hands-on approach to business
  • You’ll love to find insights and value within data taking a hands on approach to report building and data analysis
  • You will have a passionate interest in analytical advancements having knowledge or understanding of the benefits of innovations such as Data Science.
  • You're interested in all things data and have a desire to grow and lead your own data strategy and team.

What will you be doing

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, developing and improving a range of internal business reports and analysis including marketing, customer and artist analytics. 
  • Work collaboratively with our product team to deliver data insights that support and improve our artists and customer experiences, helping us deliver a world class user experience
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team and media agencies to deliver campaign performance insights in order to understand how best to spend the media budget
  • Develop and propose a data strategy to support the Artfinder’s platform growth as the art marketplace of choice.  
  • Being the go-to person for our data insights for all departments and stakeholders - internal and external.
  • Demonstrate innovation through the piloting and implementation of data science and advanced analytics that improve our operations and deliver value to our artists and customers.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to identify requirements, improvements and opportunities.
  • Working with a number of exciting technologies from Amazon AWS and other partners, always using the right tool for the job

About you

  • Strong in modern programming languages including SQL, Python and/or R.
  • Proven understanding of data warehousing, ETL, modelling and best data practices.
  • An eye for detail and design applying user experience and design at the heart of your insights 
  • Ability to take a structured analytical approach with a curiosity to understand more
  • Confidence in communicating and presenting technical solutions to a variety of models including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ideally exposure to similar fields such as e-commerce and/or marketplaces.
  • Ideally experience in building and leading a team.
  • A great communicator and with the experience of managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and structured in your approach to work.
  • Strong ability to work in a remote environment and with cross-functional teams.


Desirable Criteria - These highlights useful skills and experience, but are not essential requirements:

  • Ideally you will have experience in online marketplaces or C2C (consumer to consumer) websites.
  • An understanding of B Corporations and how this affects business decisions
  • Experience with a startup environment
