Backend Developer (Python, Django)

Your responsibilities will include

  • Designing and implementing new features and APIs
  • Integrating our backend with third parties like payment processors, fulfilment partners and messaging gateways
  • Working on search and recommendation technologies
  • Striving for the highest standards to make our application robust and reliable
  • Working with a number of exciting technologies from Amazon AWS and other partners, always using the right tool for the job
  • Working on scaling the application to multiple regions, allowing it to serve millions of users every month
  • Scripting and automating tasks to increase overall efficiency of the team
  • Working closely with the rest of the company on ensuring the best possible experience for our users
  • Performing optimisations, AB testing, analysing user behaviour to actively seek ways of improving the application
  • Innovating, coming up with new features and actively seeking ways to improve the application

Your experience

  • Strong in Python and Django or similar web frameworks
  • Experienced working with large databases (Postgres preferable)
  • Excellent in unit testing and functional testing
  • Experience in containerized environment and deployment techniques (Docker / Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of infrastructure, application architecture and deployment processes
  • Experienced working with APIs and third party integrations (including payment gateways)
  • Passion for command line, ability to debug and troubleshoot
  • You are a team player and have good analytical skills
